Hilary Duff spotlighted her Pilates-toned bikini body and recent weight loss on Instagram while vacationing in Hawaii.
Duff posted an Instagram video of herself diving off a paddle board wearing a striped crop top and bikini bottom that accentuated her ripped abs.
Hilary, whose weight has fluctuated through the years, has battled the eating disorder anorexia, and now refuses to resort to starvation diets to stay skinny.
The 5-foot-2 Hilary said she got too skinny at the height of her anorexia struggle.
“When I was 17, I weighed 98 pounds,” Duff told ET (see video).
“I was totally obsessed with everything I put in my mouth. I was way too skinny. And my body wasn’t that healthy.”
Hilary now maintains her fit bikini body with a portion-controlled diet and rigorous workouts that include cardio exercise, Pilates and weight training.
Pilates is an excellent low-impact way to lose weight and tone your entire body, said fitness expert Cassey Ho, author of Hot Body Year Round.
When she needs to slim down for a special event, Duff’s weight loss secrets include running on the treadmill and cutting back on alcohol and sweets.
Duff, a former Disney star, said growing up in Hollywood magnifies the pressure to be super-skinny, but she has learned to love her body.

“You see supermodels who have babies, and the next week they look as if they were never pregnant,” said Hillary. “That was not the case with me. Some days I feel great, others I feel pretty normal, and that’s acceptable.”
Duff is divorced from former NHL player Mike Comrie, the father of their four-year-old son, Luca. Hilary said co-parenting has worked out well for them because they love and respect each other.
Hilary’s TV series, Younger, was just renewed for season 4. Season 3 of “Younger” premieres on TV Land Sept. 28.
