Sylvester Stallone, who just turned 70 in July, is in fantastic shape, thanks to a high-protein, low-carb diet and regular weight training workouts.
Stallone, who still keeps his body fat at 4% to 7%, continues to train as if he were decades younger, he revealed in his fitness book Sly Moves: My Proven Program to Lose Weight, Build Strength.
Stallone’s high-protein, low carb diet typically includes egg whites, chicken, fish and low-starch vegetables.
Contrary to what some may think, Stallone has scaled back his workouts as he’s gotten older.

When Sly was younger, he trained hard at the gym, lifting weights and doing cardio six days a week. Since scaling back to 3 to 5 workouts a week, Stallone feels stronger, healthier and less fatigued.
Not surprisingly, Sly’s unbelievable physique has fueled rumors of steroid use over the years — claims he has denied.
But Stallone admitted to Time magazine in 2008 that he took human growth hormone (HGH) and prescription testosterone while training for Rambo and Rocky V.
“HGH [human growth hormone] is nothing,” Stallone said. “Anyone who calls it a steroid is grossly misinformed. Testosterone to me is so important for a sense of well-being when you get older.”
He continued: “Everyone over 40 years old would be wise to investigate it because it increases the quality of your life. Mark my words: In 10 years it will be over-the-counter.”
At a time when most action heroes retire, Sylvester Stallone started a whole new franchise with The Expendables series.
The Expendables was released in 2010, followed by The Expendables 2 (2012) and The Expendables 3 (2014). The Expendables 4 is scheduled to be released in 2017.
In 2016, Stallone won the Golden Globe Award for best supporting actor for Creed, a continuation of the blockbuster “Rocky” film series that earned him Oscar nominations. “Rocky,” which Stallone wrote, won the 1977 Academy Award for Best Picture.
