Adriana Lima showed off her washboard abs on Instagram while exercising with two of her Victoria’s Secret supermodel friends.
Judging by her six-pack abs, it’s hard to believe Lima is the mother of two small children.
Adriana’s post-baby weight loss secrets were a low carb Paleo-style diet and boxing workouts, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
Lima said she works very hard to maintain her hot bikini body.
“I work out and I look after myself,” said Adriana. “I take this seriously because it’s my job.”
Adriana, who has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2000, trains with former boxer Michael Olajide, author of Sleekify: The Supercharged No-Weights Workout.
Lima’s workouts combine muscle-sculpting moves with fat-blasting cardio exercise and shadow-boxing, said Olajide.
But exercise is only part of the formula for a sizzling bikini body. The 5-foot-10 Lima, who weighs 135 pounds, follows a low carb Paleo diet that’s low in sugar.
Adriana’s diet features high-quality proteins like eggs, grilled meat and chicken and low-sugar fruits like blueberries and blackberries. She’s also drinks plenty of hydrating coconut water throughout the day.
The Paleo diet works well for women because it reduces the blood-sugar spikes and hormone surges that fuel overeating, mood swings and weight gain, said Esther Blum, author of Cavewomen Don’t Get Fat.
Paleo has a huge celebrity following, including Megan Fox and Jessica Alba.
