Christie Brinkley, who has been a supermodel pinup for more than four decades, still looks fab at 63, but she says finding a new boyfriend is a problem at her age. “It’s not as easy,” she says.
“You know, because it’s very different at my age. It’s like, when you’re young, no problem. But sort of at this age, it’s not as easy,” she explained.
Brinkley has had no shortage of relationship drama. She’s been married four times to French artist Jean-Francois Allaux, singer Billy Joel, developer Richard Taubman and architect Peter Cook.
Her last marriage to Cook ended in a bitter divorce and custody battle. They have two children together.
Brinkley—who first covered the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1979 and appeared in another sizzling photo spread in the 2017 issue. She posed with daughters Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Alexa Ray Joel.
Christie said her anti-aging beauty secrets are a vegetarian diet, cardio cycling workouts, yoga and calisthenics.
“I am a vegetarian but an aspiring vegan,” Brinkley told Health magazine. “I try not to eat too much animal product. My diet is mainly fresh fruit and vegetables, grains, and beans.”
Brinkley says she hopes one of her friends sets her up with the right guy.
“You know, I’m counting on my friends to, like, pull something out of the hat.”
In the meantime, she’s keeping busy.
“I’m loving my summer and, you know, kind of really too busy … but I’d slow it down a little if the right person came along,” she said.
Dating at 63 has its problems. Christie said she feels “invisible” to men her own age.
Most of the guys in the dating pool appear to be between the ages of 38 and 42, she says.
“It’s funny because I think that at that age they have nothing to prove. They’re very confident and do just what they want to do.
A number of celebrity women her age are dating much younger men. Most notably, Kris Jenner, 61, is dating Corey Gamble, 36.
But Brinkley says a 30-year age gap is way over the line.
“I think a ten-year span is fine,” she says.
