Kylie Jenner is already following in the footsteps of half-sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. She’s trying to cash in on her post-pregnancy weight loss by promoting “waist training” corsets that have been branded a health hazard by experts.

At various times the Kardashian sisters have promoted the controversial product on social media sites.

In February, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported a doctor’s warnings to beware of health and fitness products promoted by the Kardashians and other celebrities.

Celebrities are often paid to promote quack products and rarely disclose their profit motive to fans, even though it’s against the law to do so. Kylie does not disclose whether she’s being paid.

Kylie doesn’t reveal whether she’s being paid to promote the product, but she includes a discount code with her pitches. They’re often used by manufacturers to gauge the effectiveness of their advertising.

Last year, Khloe posted photos on social media showing off her incredibly small waist, which she attributed to “waist training” with a corset.

But corsets and other so-called waist trainers provide zero health benefits, said Dr. Lauren Streicher, an author, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

Plus, they come with serious health risks like digestive problems, aches and pain. They can also limit function of the liver, kidney and intestines.

Kylie, 20, got into the game on Monday posting a selfie on Instagram wearing a corset. She wrote in the caption:

“”My girl @premadonna87 hooked me up with the @waistgangsociety snap back package. Waistgang has the BEST quality snap back products. Make sure you get your package and follow @waistgangsociety to join and keep up the journey together.”

The moved touched off a firestorm of criticism on social media sites for not only promoting a bogus product but also for promoting a negative body image.

“Kylie’s back at it selling waist trainers, this time with a fun pregnancy spin! The devil works hard,” wrote one critic.

“My god is kylie still advertising waist trainers (NOW POST GIVING BIRTH) to teenage girls!!! How can u be so filthy rich and still sell out for something that is so dumb and could potentially perpetuate negative body image in young girls?” wrote another.

Fans have been surprised by the speed at which Kylie regained her shape, but health professionals say it’s not all that uncommon when you’re 20-years-old.

Other celebrities also swear by the corsets. Actress Jessica Alba has credited wearing double corsets around the clock for three months for her dramatic post-baby weight loss after her two pregnancies.

Brooke Burke Charvet claims wearing a corset was responsible for her stunning post-baby weight loss after each of her four pregnancies.
