Lucy Hale is radiant at 28, but says it’s not all her. “The Pretty Little Liars” star says she’s a big believer in all kinds of products to make her skin glow, including expensive face masks. But she’s being paid to hype at least some of her fav products.

Hale revealed in Teen Vogue she’s partnering with Degree deodorant manufactured by the Unilever, a global consumer giant based in Holland.

The company’s consumer lines include foods, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products.

Hale says she likes to use fashion and make-up to reflect her different personas and is obsessed with using “a bunch of facemasks’ to get “glowy skin.” She told the magazine:

“There’s something so great about beauty that actually makes you feel like a different person sometimes. Like with [Pretty Little Liars character] Aria, obviously, she was really creative with her wardrobe, and even with her makeup too. Out of the four [main characters], I think makeup was her thing. At one point, she even had pink stripes in her hair, so that can definitely make you feel differently.”

Lucy prefers a lighter makeup look for day-to-day, wearing a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation because she doesn’t want her make-up to look “too much”.

“I love a good tinted moisturizer, because foundation can be too much, but sometimes you need a little help,” she explained.

And the brunette beauty feels most confident when she has a good skin care routine and gets “excited” about taking her make-up off after a long day.

“[Neutrogena] also make this gentle cleanser in the blue bottle is sort of like a classic, and I remember the first time I went to a dermatologist, they told me about it. I use that, and Micellar Water, and also do a bunch of face masks and stuff. It’s kind of basic, but I think just taking care of your skin, because it all sort of starts there. I always feel most confident when I am taking care of myself and taking care of my skin. Everyone’s different, but find a routine that works for you and just stay consistent with it. I actually look forward to my nightly routine. It actually gets me excited.”

But consumers should of beware Garnier skin naturals Micellar Cleansing Water for normal and sensitive skin and Garnier pure active micellar cleansing water.

Both have been found to contain polyaminopropyl biguanide (PHMB), a once commonly used cosmetics chemical that has been linked with cancer and banned in some countries.

Product placements in movies is now a major trend in Hollywood. Celebrities are often hired to promote products as well. Few disclose their relationship to the manufacturer even though they are now required to do so.

The extent of Hale’s product endorsements is unknown, but it’s a question ever consumer needs to ask before following a celebrity’s beauty recommendations.
