Jasmine Tookes, the lithe 5-foot, 9-inch tall Victoria’s Secret Angel, gets asked a lot about how she maintains her figure. Her diet secret is simple.
She says she eats everything in moderation.
Jasmine was selected to wear the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Fantasy Bra (worth $3 million in 2016) in Paris, France. She was the third African American model to receive the honor.
Jasmine Tookes, Romee Strijd Tell All About Her Victoria’s Secret Diet, Workout Tips (11 Photos!)
The 28-year-old California native became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2015 joining the likes of Lily Aldridge, Taylor Hill, Elsa Hosk and Martha Hunt.
Current and former angels all have their diet and workout regimes, but Jasmine’s may be the simplest of all.
Jasmine says she is a little “bored” by people who constantly ask what she “eats in a day. ” She has no complicated diet. She just keeps healthy by eating all food in “moderation”.
Exercise is also a big part of her life.
Before she started modeling at age 15, Jasmine took gymnastics lessons for ten years and also played volleyball and softball.
“You learn to love your body more and more. Especially as you get older things change, you work out a little harder or a little less. You are constantly learning to accept and love your body,” she told Glamour magazine in a recent interview.
“Everybody has one little thing they don’t like. You have to learn to embrace that and love that,” she confides.
“That’s what I have done. I am so bored of people asking me what I eat every day because, honestly, I eat everything in moderation! I love food so much!”
Jasmine also insisted that she wants to feel “sexy” for herself rather than for any man because it is important to feel confident in your own skin
“Something I feel like I am asked a lot recently is, ‘Is it not cool to be sexy anymore?’ It is cool, you don’t have to be sexy for anyone else, you just have to be sexy for yourself! It’s all about self-love and feeling good about yourself. You can go to Victoria’s Secret and put on lingerie and it can be for you. It doesn’t have to be for a man.”
Jasmine also confessed that her styling tip to make herself feel “mysterious” and sexy is to wear a blouse top that’s slightly unbuttoned so you can see your lingerie slightly “in the middle”.
“I would advise styling a blouse top so you can see the bra in the middle – that way it’s a little mysterious. You don’t have to show everything, just a little peek will do!” she advises.
Tookes says her diet choices are also helped by “enviably fast metabolism.” She says she can “skip workouts, eat pizza, and never gain weight.” She told The Cut:
“I try to get up early, work out in the morning, and get it over and done with. If I wait for the evening, it’s not going to happen. So, I wake up and have a protein shake. I’ll put in banana, chocolate whey powder, peanut butter, strawberries, and almond milk. I like the Isopure chocolate whey powder; it’s one of the cleanest ones. Then I’ll have breakfast, which is usually two hard-boiled eggs with spinach.
For her workout, she hits the gym four times a week. She combines barre classes, Pilates and twice a week she does weight training to build and firm her thighs. She works mainly on her legs and butt.
For other past and present Victoria’s Secret models, their diets are as varied as they are. Here’s how other models do it.
The process involves a diet regimen that cycles between brief periods of fasting, with either no food or significant calorie reduction, and periods of unrestricted eating, according to the Harvard University School of Health. Read more here.

“I love avocado, olives and nuts. Walnuts and macadamia nuts in particular are a good hook up of omegas. When cooking I choose a high quality olive oil or avocado oil. If you eat fish, enjoy wild salmon regularly. A good, high quality algae oil is a great call for the vegans out there – just to make sure you hit your requirements. Plant-based food sources contain the precursor ALA, and it has a low conversion rate to the important DHA – so make sure you supplement here!” Read more here.
