Olivia Rodrigo, the teen star of Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark” series and pop singer, has a self-care secret that, she says, helps her “re-energize” for work.
It’s her beauty routine.
Rodrigo, who turned 18 this past February, says taking time to care for her skin and hair and applying make-up helps build her confidence.
“I love alone time. I’m very much an introvert, and so doing stuff like that really helps energize me for whatever I’m doing in my work or life,” she told Vogue in a recent interview.
It’s all about “gaining a lot of confidence,” she says, and she’s actually cutting back on make-up.
“I would do contours where it was just like lines. Lines. Lines,” she says. “Winged eyeliner that went crazy in this direction. I had thick brows and overlined lips . . . I definitely have toned it down a lot since then.
That’s been a part of growing up. I’m still gaining a lot of confidence in how I look and probably will be for a very long time.”
Olivia is known for her roles as Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel series “Bizaardvark” and as Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”
Rodrigo signed with Interscope and Geffen Records in 2020.
She released her debut single “Drivers License” this past January. She release her second single “Deja Vu” in April.
Both songs will be featured on her debut album Sour, set for release on May 21.
Olivia made her acting debut as Grace Thomas, the lead role in direct-to-video film “An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success.”
Editor’s tip: Rodrigo says Taylor Swift and Lorde are her singing idols and biggest inspirations.
